Girls-only football club 'Future Lionesses' will be hosting a World Cup final watch party on Sunday as England take on Spain.
World Cup watch party to be held at Knaresborough Town clubhouse A girls football club in Harrogate is hosting a World Cup final watch party as England's Lionesses bid to make history. The final will see England take on Spain on Sunday in England's first senior World Cup final since 1966. And 'Future Lionesses' - a girls-only Player Development Centre that launched earlier this year - will be hosting a watch party at Knaresborough Town FC's clubhouse on Manse Lane. The clubhouse will be open from 10:30am before kick off at 11am. The match will be shown on BBC1 and ITV. Aimed at girls aged 8-16 in the Harrogate area, weekly training sessions are ran by professional and qualified coaches on the all-weather pitch at Harrogate Grammar School. Launched by Harrogate man Jon Maloney, Future Lioness aims to “provide girls with all the necessary key skills to progress their footballing abilities” as well as develop their self-confidence and social skills and allow them to build friendships through football.
