The Met Office has issued another yellow weather warning for the Harrogate district as Storm Babet continues across parts of the UK.
Storm Babet: Another weather warning issued for Harrogate A new yellow weather warning is in place for the Harrogate district after Storm Babet caused flooding across the area. The Met Office issued the yellow warning for “heavy rain” which could lead to further flooding across Yorkshire. The warning is in place until 4pm today (Tuesday). A spokesperson for the Met Office said:
"Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures. "There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings. "There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life."The number of people in the UK who have died as a result of Storm Babet has risen to seven and hundreds have been left homeless. Around 1,250 properties in England have been flooded and 30,000 properties have needed protection against rising water levels, according to the Environment Agency (EA).
