Talented youngsters at a Harrogate school set sail for the high seas and a life of swashbuckling adventure in their latest school production.
Pupils at Ashville Prep School entertained family and friends with a riotous performance of colour, music, dancing and acting in ‘The Pirates of the Curry Bean’.
Year 6 pupils auditioned for their roles in the lively musical which took place over two nights in the school’s large Soothill Hall auditorium.
The show, which featured sparkling songs and a witty script as sharp as a cutlass, was accompanied by a live eight-piece band made up of musicians from Ashville College and teaching staff.
Phil Soutar, Head of Prep School, said the production showed the immense talent of the Year 6 performers.
He said:
“We have a long tradition of music, dance and acting and our pupils and staff love the thrill of live performances.
“We chose this script as there was something for everyone to join in and our audiences were blown away by the children’s confidence on stage, their teamwork and the excitement on their faces.
“It was a pleasure to watch the entertainment and celebrate the end of term with our Year 6 pupils.”
