A unique Polar Express train experience is set to return to the area for a third year.
Chris Van Allsburg’s timeless tale is coming to Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, between Skipton and Harrogate, in November.
It’s running through to Christmas Eve, billed as a "Christmas experience like no other" and featuring the sights, sounds and intrigue of the classic tale.
Guests are invited to attend in their pyjamas before being joined by various characters from the story, including dancing chefs serving hot chocolate and cookies.
There will be a reading of Chris Van Allsburg’s classic tale, and Santa and his elves will also make an appearance to give each child their own sleigh bell.

Each guest will take home a keepsake sleigh bell and souvenir golden ticket in addition to the wonderful memories made on this magical trip.
Trust Director, Rob Shaw said:
“With ‘The Polar Express’ a very popular film for all the family, we are very excited by this new opportunity to bring our railway to potentially a much greater audience in the lead up to this coming Christmas.
“We will be utilising professional actors drawn from across the country to bring the best possible ‘The Polar Express’ experience to Yorkshire.
“As a Charitable Trust, we will be using the proceeds to further develop, maintain and enhance our Grade-II listed infrastructure, steam locomotives and internationally important collection of historic carriages.”
A more relaxed sensory performance is available for those with special educational needs.
