Two lanes were closed on the A1(M) yesterday (Tuesday) after a van overturned on the carriageway.
It happened just before 3pm and caused two hours of delays whilst emergency services dealt with the incident.
Traffic was affected between junction 50 at Ripon and junction 51.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area before the roads reopened at around 5:20pm - albeit with 4 miles of queues.
It's not yet known whether anyone has been injured in the incident.
