Nidderdale Walk charity event to return for 30th year

Registration is now open for the Nidderdale Charity Walk and Run, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

Nidderdale Walk charity event to return for 30th year The Nidderdale Walk is set to return for its 30th anniversary, again raising money for local charities. Organised by the Rotary Club of Harrogate, the event will take place on Sunday 19th May. It starts at Pateley Bridge before various routes take participants into upper Nidderdale. To date, over £970,000 has been raised by participants for their own charities. A spokesperson for Rotary of Harrogate said:

"The sole purpose of this Rotary event is to provide you with well organised, waymarked walks with checkpoints along the way to enable you to raise money for your own charities. "We do the preparation… you raise sponsorship and walk (or run)!"

Entry fees will be used to cover costs and the excess will go to local charities supported by the Rotary Club of Harrogate. There will be six routes - of approximately four, eight, fifteen, eighteen, twenty two and twenty six miles. The routes all start from Pateley Bridge Scout Hall and head up Nidderdale towards, and for many beyond, Lofthouse. The event is open to runners and walkers who may complete whichever length route they wish. Numbers are not limited. Further information and a registration form can be found online here.
