One of Harrogate's oldest trading shops is set to undergo major changes following a change in ownership.
Station News on Station Square has been providing customers with papers, magazines, tobacco, snacks and more since it opened in 1934.
However Leeds brothers Daniel Gardiner and Eyal Hadad, who have taken over the business, have announced a number of changes they plan to introduce next month.
Station News will soon offer artisan British and Middle Eastern food in what the pair believe is “unlike anything else in town.”
They’ve partnered with cult culinary names — Vegilicious, The Leeds Jewish Kosher Kitchen, and Street Lane Bakery — to create a new breakfast and lunch menu.

Station News will also offer pastries and homemade cakes.
Owners Daniel Gardiner and Eyal Hadad said:
“To now be the ones breathing life into Station News with such incredible food is an honour.
“We’re bringing something special to the community - something that celebrates flavour, culture, and craft.”
The shop will have a soft relaunch on 6th May, offering various in-store deals including discounted coffees with a new loyalty card, an offer on meal deals and a discount for council, bus and train staff and emergency workers.
From 4pm daily, all major food items will be reduced by 50% and anything left over at the end of the day will be packed off to homeless shelters.
Daniel and Eyal added:
“Whether you're grabbing your morning paper, picking up a sweet treat, or trying your luck on the lottery, we can’t wait to welcome you.
“Swing by, say hello, and experience the new era of Station News!”
The new opening times will be as follows:
- Monday-Friday: 7:15 AM – 6:15 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Sunday: Closed
