A familiar community spot in Starbeck has a new name and a renewed sense of purpose.
Life Destiny Church has announced that its well-loved community café, formerly known as The Living Room Café, will now be called The Joyful Brew.
Located to the rear of Starbeck Methodist Church, The Joyful Brew invites visitors to enjoy a warm drink, meet friends and feel part of the local community.
It offers free internet for those working remotely, a play area for children and space for quiet chats or friendly catch-ups.

The café serves coffee from CLO, a family-run roastery based in Garforth known for its fair-trade and ethically sourced beans.
Visitors can choose from blends such as Eastgate Brew or Colombia, alongside hot chocolate, cold drinks, lunch options and homemade cakes.
Sarah Khanye of Life Destiny Church said:
“We believe small acts of kindness can change lives. The Joyful Brew is our way of opening the door wider — a place where everyone is welcomed and valued.
“It’s about bringing joy to the heart of our community.”
The Joyful Brew is staffed entirely by volunteers, offering opportunities for community involvement and connection.
It operates during school term times only, providing breaks for those who help run it.
Opening hours are Tuesday from 9am to 4pm, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 3pm, and Friday from 9am to 2pm.
