Ripon BID have partnered with North Yorkshire Highways to improve the boundary signage in Ripon.
New boundary signs installed to improve wayfinding in Ripon Two new boundary signs have been installed in Ripon to improve wayfinding in the city. Ripon BID have partnered with North Yorkshire Highways to install new boundary signs on the bypass and make upgrades to the signs on Boroughbridge Road, Kirkby Road and Studley Road. A spokesperson for Ripon BID said:
"We would like to thank Cllrs Barbara Brodigan and Andrew Williams for their donations from their locality budgets. "Ripon now has signage befitting a cathedral city and we hope that our businesses, locals and visitors will all agree that it’s a huge improvement."In a joint project with North Yorkshire County Council, Ripon BID have been working to refurbish, repaint and restore the notice boards and finger posts in place across the city. The BID has fitted the notice boards with bespoke maps and accompanying tourist information and events. The spokesperson added:
"The feedback so far has been fantastic! We have noticed a definite rise in people looking at the boards and hope they will work to help tourists navigate our city and all it has to offer."Event notices are changed at least once a week and promotional posters can be submitted in A4 format to the Ripon BID office at No8 Westgate. The notice boards will be officially opened on Thursday (17th August) in a ceremony starting at 8:45pm. It will be attended by Ripon’s famous bellman and iconic Hornblower.
