Local talent takes spotlight for 'Sister Act the Musical' at Harrogate Theatre

Local talent Grace Knill will take to the stage as Deloris Van Cartier in their upcoming production of the beloved musical comedy, "Sister Act."

Organised by RAOS Musical Theatre Company, the production will be coming to Harrogate Theatre from Wednesday 17th until Saturday 20th April.

Grace Knill is not a stranger to the stage, having captivated audiences in a previous production of Calendar Girls the Musical.

However, this is only her second performance on the Harrogate Theatre stage.

With her powerhouse vocals, comedic timing, and undeniable stage presence, she is perfectly poised to bring Deloris, the sassy nightclub singer who finds refuge in a convent, to life.

Mark Edwards director of RAOS Musical Theatre Company's" production of "Sister Act" said:

“We were blown away by Grace's audition. She possesses a captivating energy and a genuine warmth that perfectly embodies Deloris’s journey.

“We can't wait to see her lead our talented cast in this hilarious and heartwarming production.”

In "Sister Act," Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder and is placed in protective custody in a quiet convent.

Disrupting the nuns' peaceful routine with her disco beats and worldly ways, Deloris unexpectedly finds a new sense of purpose by helping the struggling choir find its voice.

Grace Knoll said:

“I’m so thrilled to be playing Deloris, she is a huge character in personality and presence.

“This is my biggest role to date, and I’m delighted I get to take to the stage with this amazing cast”.

RAOS Musical Theatre Company's production of "Sister Act" runs from Wednesday 17th April to Saturday 20th April at Harrogate Theatre.
