Final booking slots are still available for a Christmas tree collection service run by Knaresborough Young Farmers.
The annual scheme, which is now in its fourth year, will take place on Sunday (4th January), with Saturday collections already fully booked.
Sunday’s round will cover Knaresborough and nearby villages including Farnham, Ferrensby, Follifoot, Goldsborough, Kirk Deighton, Lingerfield, Little Ribston, North Deighton, Scotton and Spofforth.
Households taking part are asked to leave their Christmas trees outside their property by 9am on the morning of collection.
A minimum donation of £7.50 per tree is requested.
Money raised from the initiative will be split between Saint Michael’s Hospice, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Knaresborough Young Farmers’ club funds.

Once collected, the trees are taken to a local farm where they are chipped and reused as cattle bedding before being spread back onto the land, providing an environmentally friendly way to dispose of Christmas trees.
Last year’s collections raised more than £3,500 for good causes.
Bookings are being taken through an online form, with organisers advising residents to secure a slot soon as availability for Sunday is limited.
For further information, residents can contact the organisers by email at yfcknaresborough@gmail.com.
