Harrogate Town's Exercise Stadium is among the "safest" in the UK, according to new research.
Security experts at Get Licensed have revealed the safest and most dangerous football stadiums in the UK by analysing a variety of factors.
These include the stadiums with the highest and lowest amount of arrests and those with the highest and lowest amount of banning orders during the 2022/23 season.
And Harrogate Town’s Exercise Stadium ranked in second place, narrowly losing out to Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium for top spot.
Town had an average attendance of 2,296 per home game and a total attendance of 52,808 - but no arrests throughout the season.
Crystal Palace’s Selhurst Park, Northampton Town’s Sixfields Stadium and the Cardiff City Stadium made up the remainder of the top five “safest” stadia.
On the opposite end of the scale, Weston Homes Stadium, home to Peterborough United, has been named the most dangerous stadium in the country.
Shahzad Ali, security expert and CEO of Get Licensed, said:
“For any fans heading to football games over the course of the 2024/25 season, there are a number of steps you can take to remain as safe as possible.
“To begin with, try to arrive at the stadium as early as possible to avoid any last-minute crowds which at times, can result in frustration and disorder.
“Secondly, plan your route to the stadium in advance as public transport will often be busy and roads around the stadium will be closed to traffic."
Shahzad added:
“It’s also important to respect stadium staff, including security workers who are there to help keep you safe.
“More often than not, security workers can take the brunt of angry and frustrated fans so be sure to listen to any instructions they give out and if you feel like you are in trouble, reach out to them for advice.”
