A para powerlifter from Harrogate is heading to Paris next month to represent Team GB in the Paralympic Games.
Charlotte McGuinness, 22, will be heading to the French capital on 22nd August for the Women’s Para Powerlifting event on 5th September.
She first competed in the Dwarf Games in 2019 - her first attempt at weightlifting.
And Charlotte is now bidding for Paralympic gold at the 2024 games, which start on Wednesday 28th August.

Charlotte told Your Harrogate:
“This has always been a dream of mine and I’ve had to overcome many obstacles to get to where I am today.
“I feel so grateful to be in this position and proud of how far I have come and look forward to seeing what is ahead in the future.”
Charlotte’s event will be broadcasted on Channel 4 alongside the rest of the Paralympic Games.
She will represent Team GB in the para powerlifting alongside Olivia Broome, Matthew Harding, Liam McGarry, Zoe Newson, Louise Sugden and Mark Swan.
