Harrogate and Knaresborough MP Tom Gordon completed the Great North Run yesterday (Sunday) in aid of Saint Michael's Hospice.
The half marathon, which takes place annually between Newcastle and South Shields, attracted tens of thousands of runners from across the country.
The MP crossed the finish line in a time of 1 hour, 58 minutes and 43 seconds.
Speaking after the event, he said:
“Sub 2 hour half marathons are so back!”
Saint Michael’s Hospice, based in Harrogate, provides care and support to people living with terminal illness and their families.
The hospice is part of North Yorkshire Hospice Care, an independent charity that also includes Herriot Hospice Homecare and the bereavement support service, Just ‘B’.

Last year, Mr Gordon met with the charity’s chief executive, Tony Collins, to discuss its work and the impact it has on local families.
Donations to support the fundraising effort can be made online via Mr Gordon’s JustGiving page: justgiving.com/page/tom-gordon-2025.
