Harrogate man branded 'entitled' after complaining that waiter called him 'bud' A man has been branded 'entitled' after writing to complain that his server called him 'bud' in a Harrogate venue. A local resident has taken to X (Twitter) to share the interaction involving his son, who works at an unnamed venue in Harrogate, and a customer. The customer claimed to be “neither a Karen nor a Kevin” and praised the food, service, cleanliness and ambience of the venue. However he believed he was “entitled to a better greeting” by a staff member who called him ‘bud’. The complaint, written by a man named Ian, said:
“I think I am entitled to a better greeting by your staff member than ‘what can I get for you bud.’ I am a paying customer in a respectable and recognised brand establishment and I am not the friend, drinking partner of other acquaintance of your staff member.”[caption id="attachment_74479" align="aligncenter" width="537"] Reece Dinsdale has branded the customer 'entitled' after his complaint.[/caption] The complaint has received a lot of attention on X (Twitter) and has been seen by more than 12,500 people. Reece Dinsdale, who shared the story, called it "Harrogate at its absolute worst." He wrote:
"‘Entitled’ is EXACTLY what you are, Ian! That was my son you were complaining about. "The kindest, most polite chap you could wish to meet. Is that his only crime, that he called you ‘bud’? Get a life… and worry about what’s important."Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here.
