FIFTY TWO at Rudding Park has been awarded a Michelin star in the newly published 2026 Michelin Guide.
The restaurant, located at the Harrogate hotel and spa, is among 20 venues across Great Britain and Ireland to receive a new one-star rating this year, following the guide’s annual review by Michelin inspectors.
A Michelin star is awarded to restaurants judged to offer high-quality cooking, with one star described as cuisine “worth a stop”.
FIFTY TWO at Rudding Park first opened in May 2024 and had previously been included in the Michelin Guide without receiving a star, indicating it was recognised by inspectors but had not yet met the criteria for the award.
The 2026 guide marks the first time the restaurant has been given a star.
Set within the grounds of Rudding Park near Follifoot, the restaurant is known for its immersive dining format, open kitchen and tasting menus that focus on seasonal ingredients, including produce grown on site.
Michelin inspectors said:
"The open kitchen acts as a stage at this theatrical restaurant set in the grounds of the Rudding Park hotel.
"All the semi-communal tables face the chefs as they craft their creative surprise tasting menu, which is filled with assured, technically skilled dishes informed by their homegrown produce (from the 52 raised beds) and the preserved ingredients that line the shelves.
"In a playful touch, ‘Dessert Island Discs’ allows guests to choose a track to play while the puddings are served. Said desserts are a highlight, such as the exquisitely executed honey custard tart crafted from their own honey."
The Michelin Guide ceremony took place in Dublin, where it was confirmed that no additional restaurants were promoted to three-star status this year.
