Banyan has now officially closed its doors in Harrogate - and residents are sad to see it go.
The John Street venue shut for the final time on Saturday (3rd January).
The bar had been a familiar part of Harrogate’s social scene for around 20 years, popular for its cocktails, food and lively atmosphere.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Banyan thanked customers for their support and reflected on the bar’s time in Harrogate:
“Thank you so much for your custom over the years, we've loved being part of this wonderful community and have made so many friends.
“Don't be a stranger, we'd love to continue to welcome you to our Banyan bar in Leeds city centre.”
News of the closure has been met with sadness from residents, many of whom shared memories of time spent at the bar.
One said:
“So many years of memories here with fabulous family and friends. I'm so sad to see this close.”
Another added:
“Thanks for the memories, many of which with friends who are no longer with us.
"Such a shame they couldn’t make it work on John Street when you’d been there for so long. It was always a great atmosphere and great staff.”
A third commented:
“Got lots of happy memories from times we have spent in Banyan over many years. Sad to see it close!”
