Early birds rise for annual Raworths Run

The Raworths Run in Harrogate town centre this morning.

The annual Raworths Run returned this morning (Friday) ahead of Harrogate’s Literature Festival next week.

Harrogate International Festivals teamed up with Early Bird Run Crew, with enthusiastic runners rising bright and early to take on a designated route around the town.

The Festivals team invited participants to take on 5km at 6:30am to celebrate the launch of the annual Literature Festival.

And a full team of runners braved the mist and the cold to take part in the run before receiving a free book.

The Harrogate Literature Festival will take place from October 10th-20th at the Crown Hotel.

This year’s line-up includes ex-prime minister Theresa May, Yorkshire Vet Julian Norton and ex-footballer Peter Reid.

Sharon Canavar, chief executive of Harrogate International Festivals, said:

“The Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival always attracts incredible authors, and this year is no exception, with some of the biggest names from the worlds of politics, sport, comedy, TV and broadcasting coming to talk to us in Harrogate.

"We really are in for a treat!

“As an arts charity we rely on the generosity of others and we couldn’t do any of this without the continuing support of Raworths Solicitors, who have been our much-valued partner in this prestigious event for over a decade.”
