A dementia care open day is set to take place in Ripon next week.
Set to be held on Monday (1st September) at Studley Royal Cricket Club, the event offers residents the chance to find out more about the specialist support available in the local community.
It will run from 11am-2pm and showcase the Rainbow Care Group’s Ripon dementia club, which runs twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays, providing support and respite for people living with dementia and their families.

Organisers say the open day will give visitors an opportunity to learn about the activities on offer, speak to staff and discover how the service helps both individuals and carers.
Debbie Cheetham, Community Engagement Lead, said:
“Dementia affects so many in various ways and we are proud to offer positive solutions and support within the local community to those affected.
“We see a huge difference to those joining our groups and to their families benefitting from the respite care they so badly need.”
The Ripon club is part of a wider network, with similar sessions running across Harrogate, Knaresborough and surrounding villages on a daily basis.
The initiative aims to provide a safe and welcoming environment for those affected by dementia, while also giving families valuable respite time.
The open day is free to attend, and members of the public are invited to drop in to find out more about the support available locally.
