Organisers of the Great Yorkshire Show have been given a sneak preview of designers set to be showcased in the “Farm to Fashion” shows this year.
From quirky knitwear to stylish tailoring and eye-catching tweed created by Yorkshire designers and companies, the fashion shows will spotlight creative excellence while reflecting the wool journey.
The importance of British wool, its versatility and sustainability, and the key role of farmers is reflected in the garments chosen for the catwalk.
Following last year’s success, amateur models from the farming community will join the professionals and there will again be a selection of garments from brand partners of British Wool.
Fashion Show Co-ordinator Bernadette Gledhill said:
“It was super to have a sneak preview of just some of the amazing clothes which will be featured. The talent of the designers and companies we have been working with cannot be overstated. The Great Yorkshire Show is the perfect backdrop to highlight their incredible talent and creativity. It will be the first time several garments will be seen on a catwalk, including some made especially for the Great Yorkshire Show.”
Scarborough based designer, Isabelle Randall, has chosen Yorkshire tweed for her collection which features a striking ladies “Sun Jacket” and a man’s tweed coat entitled “The Edge” - both have been created for the Great Yorkshire Show.
Part of the collection, from West Yorkshire-based Antich Fine English Tailors, includes a tweed safari jacket which will also make its catwalk debut, as will eye-catching knitwear from Skipton-based designer and artist, Joan Murray.
Handknitter Jaki Bogg of HotButter Yarns dyes her yarn, as well as knitting each jumper “freehand” and then writing the pattern. Knitters are then able to buy her kits knowing the patterns are unique and the yarn supplied comes from Yorkshire sheep!
For the first time, garments from a charity will be showcased. Replenish, a boutique for pre-loved clothes in Brighouse, has put together a collection of stylish outfits which is a brilliant addition to the programme. Their volunteers have been hard at work over the last few months putting the looks together; the result is both stunning and imaginative.
Replenish was set up by West Yorkshire charity, Focus4Hope, and sells a curated selection of clothes, shoes and accessories, with all proceeds helping vulnerable families in the area.
Designers and companies which will feature on the 2024 Great Yorkshire Show catwalk are:

Hosted by Your Harrogate's Nick Hancock, there will be two fashion shows each day and they will take place on the Sheep Shearing Stage: 12noon and 4:30PM on 9th,10th and 11th July and on Friday 12th July, at 12noon and 3PM.
A couple of well-known faces will be hitting the catwalk, with farming influencer and arable farmer Olly Harrison (Olly Blogs) taking centre stage with the models on Tuesday at 12noon.
South Yorkshire Farmer, YouTuber and Tik Tok star Joe Seels will model on Wednesday at the 12noon, while Peter Wright of Channel 5’s The Yorkshire Vet will be on at 12noon and 3pm on Friday.
