Famous farmers and stars of Cannon Hall Farm Rob and Dave Nicholson clinched rosette glory at the Great Yorkshire Show yesterday (Tuesday).
The pair entered their ageing Highland Bull Murphy won second place and Reserve Male Champion in Tuesday’s Cattle classes.
Highland cows Lynne and Lyla placed second, as well as horses Yorkshire Rose and Ruby, and shorthorn bull Sultan.
They also won a third place in the Highland pairs class.

Speaking to Your Harrogate, Dave said:
“People come here all their lives wanting that red rosette.
“If you can get a Champion, then it’s what dreams are made of.”
Rob added:
“We’re of a generation where the Great Yorkshire Show was something we really looked forward to and really appreciated, and we’re glad to be back.
“The Great Yorkshire Show is up there with the Highland Show - a county show of national significance.”
“A win is ancillary to the enjoyment of it.”
