The Boroughbridge Duck Race, organised by Boroughbridge Lions, is back this weekend for the first time since it was launched in 2019.
Boroughbridge Duck Race returns following four-year absence The Boroughbridge Duck Race is back this weekend, organised by Boroughbridge Lions. The event is back on Sunday (27th August) from 11am following a four-year break due to covid disruption. More than 700 rubber ducks are expected to be raced along the River Ure, from the Weir to the bridge. Charity group Boroughbridge Lions are aiming to raise money for local good causes. A spokesperson for the charity said:
“Witness the mild peril as 700 bathtub trained ducks race the River Ure from Weir to Bridge. “All ducks can be sponsored by purchase of tickets from our race organisers The Grantham Arms, The Tap on the Tutt, The Fox & Hounds or from your friendly local Lion! “All tickets are £2. Prizes for top 10 ducks ranges from £200 to £10.”The race was first launched in 2019 but has not been held since due to the pandemic. Find out more via the Boroughbridge Lions Facebook page here.
