A Harrogate firm has taken strides towards a more sustainable future by installing 762 solar panels.
Belzona, a manufacturer of polymeric repair and protection systems, installed these solar panels across the roofs of both of its buildings on Claro Road.
These panels will generate over 300,000 kWh of electricity per year.
The average UK home uses 2,700 kWh of electricity annually - enough to power 111 UK homes for a year.
This is due to Belzona’s business plan commitment to be recognised as an environmental champion.

Belzona used locally based contractor R&B Mechanical & Electrical Ltd to install the panels.
A spokesperson from Belzona said,
“We have been working for many years to reduce our environmental impact, and whilst we still have a way to go on our journey to net zero, the investment in these solar panels represents an exciting step forward.”
It is estimated that after just a couple of years, they will have produced enough energy to offset the energy invested in their entire lifecycle.
The panels are designed to retain their efficiency over their 20-year initial life expectancy, meaning they will generate at least 6 million kWh of power
Last year, Belzona also renewed its contract with its renewable electricity provider, ensuring that the remaining energy needs of the site are met from sustainable sources.
As a result, the entirety of Belzona's electricity consumption now comes from renewable energy,
