Work to revamp a popular Knaresborough play area has begun.
Mint Garth play area on the Hay a Park estate is currently undergoing a “refresh”.
The new design will make “much better use of the space” and has a lot of new play equipment aimed at younger children.
Cllr Hannah Gostlow and Cllr Andy Bell, who have worked with North Yorkshire Council on the project, visited the site to check on the progress.

This improvement to the play area is being funded by "Section 106" money that came from the developer of the estate in 2007 and is not connected to the new Water Lane plans.
This money had to be spent specifically on the Mint Garth play area and would have gone back to the developer if not spent.
