A Wetherby training provider has raised more than £3,500 for charity by virtually cycling from the UK to the Serengeti.
The team at Training at Work Group have been 'virtually' cycling to Africa throughout April, jumping on exercise bikes to complete the 6,526-mile journey.
The group set out with an original target of £600 for Martin House Children’s Hospice, but have been “overwhelmed” by the support that has seen them raise £3,547 at the time of publication.
A spokesperson for Training at Work Group said:
“The overwhelming support has been nothing short of inspiring.
“Much of this success is thanks to the generosity of the Wetherby community, who have rallied around the cause with open hearts and generosity.
“Local businesses, residents, friends, and family have all played a part in helping us smash our target more than five times over.”
The challenge is heading towards a finale event on Wednesday 30th April on Horsefair, Wetherby.

Guests are invited to attend from 4pm for a celebration, with music and refreshments provided.
A spokesperson for Training at Work Group added:
“We are inviting everyone – friends, families, supporters, and the wider community to join us for a celebratory gathering in the street.
“It will be a moment to celebrate the incredible effort, the funds raised, and, most importantly, the impact made for Martin House.”
The campaign has been in aid of Martin House, which supports children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families, across West, North and East Yorkshire.
Their vision is that every child and young person has access to palliative care when and where they need it.
