Three talented pupils from St. Aidan's Church of England High School have been vying to be named Rotary Club of Harrogate’s Young Chef of the Year.
Year 10 students Josh, George and Cameron showcased their culinary skills alongside pupils from several local secondary schools.
The competition challenged students to plan, prepare, and present a healthy two-course meal for two people, all within a budget of £18 and a two-hour time limit.
Participants were judged on a range of criteria including menu planning, costing, use of skills, cleanliness, presentation, and – most importantly – taste.
All three students performed “exceptionally well under pressure” according to teachers, demonstrating “creativity, precision, and professionalism” throughout the challenge.
A special congratulations goes to Cameron, who was awarded second place by the judging panel for his impressive performance.

Headteacher Sian Dover said:
“We are incredibly proud of Josh, George and Cameron for representing the school so well.
“Competitions like this offer valuable opportunities for students to develop practical skills, confidence, and resilience.
“Cameron’s achievement is particularly impressive and well deserved.”
On Thursday (12th June), St. Aidan’s Church of England High School welcomed Ann Percival from the Rotary Club of Harrogate to a Year 10 assembly, where she presented Cameron with his official certificate.
