Saint Michael’s Hospice has raised more than £50,000 from its first ever Harrogate 5km and 10km running event.
The inaugural Harrogate 5/10k saw participants of all abilities take to the course on Sunday 1st March to fundraise for the hospice, which provides care and support for people with terminal illness and their families across the district.
The event was supported by headline sponsor Vida Healthcare and hosted by Your Harrogate presenters Ricky Durkin and George Dickson.
Music on the day was provided by DJ Mark Green, helping create a lively atmosphere for runners and spectators alike.

Organisers from Saint Michael’s Hospice have thanked everyone who took part or supported the event, saying the day would not have been possible without the community’s involvement.
Isabel Ball, Race Organiser at Saint Michael’s Hospice, said:
“We’re absolutely thrilled to share that the event has already raised over £50,000.
“This is an incredible achievement, and it’s all thanks to you - whether you made a donation, set up a JustGiving page in memory of someone special, took on a personal challenge, or simply came along to show your support.
“Every pound raised helps us continue providing vital care and support across our community, and we couldn’t be more grateful.”
Money raised will help the hospice to continue delivering essential services for patients and families across the area.
The charity says it hopes to welcome runners back when the Harrogate 5/10k returns in 2027.
