The Harrogate Vet is offering innovative new keyhole surgery for neutering female dogs.
The practice will be the only one to offer this new type of surgery to dog owners in Harrogate.
It aims to reduce post-operative pain and significantly cut their recovery time.Conventional neutering in female dogs is considered major ‘open’ surgery. The recovery time for animals is normally 10-14 days.
During this time owners need to carefully look after their animals’ wound, restrict their exercise and manage their pain levels.
The Harrogate Vet’s new keyhole neutering surgery is minimally invasive. It is conducted using keyhole incisions only 5-10 millimetres across.
Because of the small incisions and minimal stitches, most patients can begin short lead walks as soon as 24 hours after surgery. The animal’s post-operative pain is also significantly reduced.
As part of their commitment to provide the highest standards of clinical care, over £30,000 has been invested in The Harrogate Vet’s new keyhole surgery facility and equipment.
The innovative new surgery will be performed by veterinary surgeons with advanced surgical qualifications trained in the very latest techniques.

The new keyhole neutering is now available at The Harrogate Vet and bookings are being taken.
It is available for a discounted rate to Harrogate Pet Club members but can also be performed on an outpatient basis for patients registered at other practices.
