Ripon MP Julian Smith has shared an update on the works at Kex Gill.
The MP spoke to North Yorkshire Council and has said there has been 'good progress' on the A59 Kex Gill realignment scheme, with work continuing to move forward on the long-term improvement project.
As the remaining work is carried out, some temporary disruption is expected over the coming weeks.
Julian said:
"Work continues to make good progress, with all major structures now in place and the new carriageway taking shape.
"Over the coming weeks, there will be some necessary local disruption as the final phases are completed."
Church Hill will be closed at its junction with the A59 for approximately eight weeks between February and April while new layout works are completed.
It has been announced there will be some overnight closures of the A59 to allow resurfacing to take place, with maintenance work also continuing on the River Washburn bridge.
Traffic lights will remain in operation at the site until around mid-February. Kex Gill will open to traffic in early June.
