Knaresborough Inn team walks 17km for local charities

Fundraisers: The Knaresborough Inn team.

Staff from The Knaresborough Inn have completed a 17km sponsored walk in aid of two local charities.

The team walked from Knaresborough to Ripley and back, raising money for Orb Community Arts and Saint Michael’s Hospice.

The walk is part of a year-long effort by the venue to raise funds for the two charities, which support people across the Harrogate district.

A spokesperson said:

“It was a great day with lots of tired feet but plenty of laughs – and all for two amazing causes.

“Thank you to everyone who stopped to cheer us on along the way.”

They added:

“We are proud to be a part of our local Knaresborough community and we want to do our best to give back to the local community that supports us.

“Orb Community Arts & St Michael's Hospice support the most vulnerable members of our wider community; providing different services such as art workshops bringing together those who are socially isolated due to long term physical or mental illnesses or providing important hospice end of life care.

“We aim to raise as much money for both of these important charities and help enrich the lives of those who need it the most.”

The team have raised just under £600 as they edge towards their £750 fundraising target.
