A Harrogate teacher has scooped an impressive £50,000 on ITV's popular quiz show Beat the Chasers.

Knaresborough resident Antonia Parris, an English teacher and Literacy Lead at St Aidan’s CE High School, appeared on the show yesterday (Sunday) and successfully took on the team of Chasers to claim the cash prize.

St Aidan’s congratulated Mrs Parris on her on the achievement and encouraged viewers to catch the episode on ITVX.

In a post, St Aidan’s wrote:

“English teacher and Literacy lead Mrs Parris was on ITV’s Beat the Chasers yesterday and (spoiler alert!!) won £50,000!

“You can still catch the show on ITVX and if you are in Year 7 or 8, you can meet her yourself at the FOSA Family Quiz this Thursday.”

The Family Quiz, organised by the Friends of St Aidan’s, is set to take place at Constance Green Hall on Thursday evening, featuring a quiz for both children and adults, along with a bar, tuck shop and tombola.

Tickets are available via Class List or by emailing friendsofstaidans@gmail.com.

Your Harrogate's Pete Egerton caught up with Antonia to chat about her win:
