A popular takeaway in Harrogate is set to reopen following an arson attack earlier this month.
The Harrogate Eats premises on Bower Street was forced to close following the attack, but since undergone a refurb.
The site, which houses multiple kitchens and popular takeaway brands—including Harrogate Brunch Club, Nibble & Nosh, and Mac Shack—will begin reopening tomorrow (Friday).
A spokesperson for Harrogate Eats said:
"Unfortunately, our premises were the target of an arson attack, which temporarily forced us to close.
“CCTV footage shows a group of young individuals lighting fires near the building. Fortunately, the damage was limited.”
"We want to extend our deepest gratitude to Blue Watch from Harrogate and Knaresborough Fire Service.
“Their swift response prevented further destruction, and we cannot thank them enough for their bravery and professionalism."
To show their appreciation, Harrogate Eats delivered a special meal to Harrogate Fire Station on Sunday (9th February) providing food for firefighters to enjoy during their lunch break.
The businesses are now preparing to welcome customers back, with the first kitchens reopening on Friday.
While some disruptions are expected as final repairs are completed, the reopening of the site marks a positive step forward for the businesses involved.
Harrogate Eats expressed appreciation for the overwhelming support from the local community and encourages customers to visit or order directly to help independent businesses recover.
