A popular Harrogate takeaway has been forced to close following a fire.
The blaze broke out at the Harrogate Brunch Club & Harrogate Eats premises on Monday evening (3rd February).
No injuries were reported, and the damage to the unit on Bower Street was less severe than initially feared.
In a statement, the business said:
"We can confirm that a fire was reported at the Brunch Club and Harrogate Eats premises last night.
"I'm relieved to say that everybody is safe. Despite the damage, it appears to be less severe than initially feared.
“The cause of the fire seems to have originated from outside of the building. As this is currently under investigation, we cannot comment further.
“We are deeply grateful to the local fire team, whose quick and professional response saved the business from further harm. Their efforts were nothing short of heroic.”
They added:
“We have been truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from local businesses and well-wishers in Harrogate.
“The kindness of our community has been extraordinary, and we sincerely thank everyone who has reached out during this time.
“We will continue to keep you updated as more details emerge and look forward to welcoming you all back soon.
“Keep an eye out for some new specials, smoked chicken coming soon."
Firefighters responded swiftly, containing the fire before it could spread further.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Further updates on reopening plans are expected in the coming days.
