Pupils from a Harrogate primary school have helped plant 1,000 new crocuses at Valley Gardens.
Children from Rossett Acre helped members of Rotary Club of Harrogate plant the purple flowers as part of World Polio Day on 24th October.
The day also saw members wear something purple to raise awareness of the importance of polio vaccination in children.

A spokesperson for Rotary Club of Harrogate said:
“It was in 1985 that Rotary began its pledge to do everything possible to end the endemic.
“At that time there were 125 polio endemic countries and up until last year there were just three, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria.
“Rotary has helped immunise over 2.5 billion children globally since 1985 with Polio mainly affecting children under the age of 5.
“Polio cases across the world have reduced by 99.9% from 350,000 cases in 1988 to just 37 in 2016.”
