Harrogate Grammar School is celebrating after Ofsted praised its academic achievement, sixth form and high-quality education.
The school, which educates more than 2,000 pupils, met the expected standard across all areas under Ofsted's new inspection framework.
Inspectors also awarded the higher 'strong' judgement for both Achievement and Sixth Form, recognising areas of particularly effective practice.
The report found pupils achieve highly over time and are exceptionally well prepared for national examinations.
Inspectors also recognised the school's work to improve outcomes for disadvantaged pupils, noting that every pupil moves on to "appropriately ambitious next steps" with support and guidance from the school.
Harrogate Grammar's sixth form was highlighted as another key strength, with inspectors praising consistently high achievement, ambitious study programmes and effective teaching.
The report also recognised the wide range of enrichment opportunities that help students progress to university, apprenticeships and employment.
Headteacher Neil Renton said:
"We are delighted that this report recognises both the academic success of our pupils and the caring culture that underpins everything we do.
"We are particularly proud that inspectors recognised the ambitious next steps our students progress to because they achieve highly, the quality of our sixth form and the very high standards of behaviour across the school.
"The new Ofsted framework rightly sets a high bar for schools, and we are pleased that inspectors found we are meeting those expectations while recognising areas of particular strength. We also know that great schools never stand still.
"We will continue to build on this success, with a particular focus on attendance, inclusion and strengthening the depth of learning within our personal development programme."
Inspectors praised the school's positive culture, describing pupils' behaviour as "impressive in lessons and around school" and highlighting the calm atmosphere across the site.
They also commended the ambitious curriculum, strong safeguarding arrangements and the support available for pupils with additional needs.
