A Harrogate dementia care group is celebrating its 10th birthday with a special event later this month.
The Rainbow Care Group was launched in June 2014, providing opportunities and experiences for people affected by dementia.
It was created by friends Natalie Hartley and Megan Bradbury, who set out to “change the way dementia care is delivered” in the UK.
And it’s now made up of 13 groups across the north, midlands and south - with more coming soon.
Rainbow Care provides dementia day care clubs in the local community, offering a full day of person-centred activities and an opportunity for respite for carers.
A spokesperson for the Rainbow Care Group said:
“We want to thank everyone who had supported our journey, our truly amazing club members past and present, their inspirational families and the beautiful, kind and dedicated people who we are lucky to call our team.”
To celebrate their 10th anniversary, Rainbow Care is hosting a special charity ball in Harrogate.
The event will take place at The Old Swan Hotel on Saturday 27th July from 6:30pm.
Guests will enjoy a three-course meal and entertainment whilst fundraising for two local charities.
Natalie Hartley, one of the owners of Rainbow Care, said:
“We’re having an auction, a magician, a comedian and a free course meal. Hopefully we’ll have a good time but also raise a lot of money for charity.”
