Harrogate clinic launches AI brain mapping technology

The Brain Collective in Harrogate has introduced what it says is the UK's first AI-powered brain mapping technology to help assess a range of cognitive challenges.

The clinic, based at Windsor House, has been providing science-backed brain training for more than 15 years, supporting people with conditions including insomnia, ADHD, autism and cognitive decline.

Its latest addition is the I-Sync system, a wireless, cloud-based brain mapping platform that uses artificial intelligence to analyse brain activity in around 10 minutes.

The wearable EEG headset measures electrical activity in the brain using 19-channel sensors before producing a brain map designed to help practitioners understand how the brain is functioning.

The technology is non-invasive and is intended to support personalised neurotherapy programmes.

Maria Walters from The Brain Collective said:

"In this day, a brain map is a HEALTH ESSENTIAL as the health of our brains is fundamental to every aspect of human life.

"The brain serves as the body’s central command system, governing thought, memory, emotion, movement and behaviour.

"A healthy brain enables clarity of thought, emotional balance, resilience, restorative sleep, creativity, and the capacity to learn and adapt throughout life.

"As we go through life, maintaining brain health becomes increasingly important, with the likes of cognitive decline, chronic stress, poor sleep and inflammation, there couldn’t be more of a requirement for the I-Sync helmet in clinic."

The clinic says the new technology builds on traditional EEG brain mapping by offering a quicker setup, wireless operation and AI-assisted analysis.

The Brain Collective says its work is underpinned by research into neuroplasticity – the brain's ability to adapt and change over time – and that its therapies aim to support people experiencing stress, poor sleep, cognitive decline and other neurological challenges.

Founded in 2011 by Dr Melanie Dakin and Maria Walters, The Brain Collective operates as a social enterprise and continues to provide neurotherapy services from its Harrogate clinic.
