Great Ouseburn Post Office will be temporarily closed for extensive building work at the premises.
To allow for the work to be carried out, the branch at Ouseburn Village store on Main Street will temporarily close on Saturday 7th July at 6pm.
The work is expected to take around two months to complete, following which the service will re-open on Thursday 5 September at 9am.
The new owner of the shop and Post Office is undertaking the work.
Ian Murphy, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said:
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers during the work.
“The safety of our customers is of paramount, therefore, to allow for the building work to take place, it is necessary for the service to close temporarily.”
During the interim alternative branches include:
- Grafton Post Office, Marton, Marton Cum Grafton, YO51 9QY
- Linton on Ouse Post Office, Linton on Ouse Village Hall, Main Street, Linton on Ouse, YO30 2AS
- Green Hammerton Post Office, York Road, Green Hammerton, YO26 8BN
