A group of women walked a marathon for two local charities yesterday.
Heart and Sole is a girls-only marathon walk event to raise money for Saint Michael's Hospice and Candlelighters.
The group walked yesterday and began at Harrogate Squash Club with participants following a scenic route through Harrogate.
Their previous walk in 2021 raised an incredible £27,000 for the charities and this year they want to follow this same success.
Group Organiser, Charlotte Broadwith said:
“We are so grateful for the incredible support we received during the 2021 walk.
“We couldn’t believe we raised £27,000 on our last walk, it was an incredible achievement and surpassed our expectations.
"The day itself was an amazing experience with a wonderful group of women, we are hoping to make the same impact this year.
"It’s heartwarming to see how the community rallies together for such meaningful causes.”
Candlelighters, supports local children with cancer and their families, and Saint Michael’s Hospice supports people facing terminal illness across the Harrogate district, ensuring no one has to go through it alone.
