Former England manager Gareth Southgate visited a Harrogate estate agent today (Thursday) to show his support for a community fundraising event.
The initiative, organised by Myrings estate agents, combines a bake sale with a “row-a-thon” outside the company’s office on Princes Square.
It's been organised in aid of Martin House Children’s Hospice.
Gareth, who is a supporter of Martin House, called in to meet the organisers and show his backing for the effort.
It aims to raise money ahead of the Dragon Boat Race 2025, where Team Myrings — also known as the "Super Troupers" — will be competing in support of the hospice.

Running from 11am to 3pm, the row-a-thon sees staff and volunteers taking turns on a rowing machine throughout the day, with members of the public encouraged to join in for five minutes or more.
A prize will also be awarded to the fastest rower.
Alongside the rowing challenge, homemade sweet and savoury bakes will be on sale, with organisers inviting donations of cakes and treats to help raise additional funds.
Georgie Corner, Head of Lettings at Myrings, said:
“We’ve had lots of passersby get involved - the balloons and music has been drawing people in. It’s lovely to see so many people taking part."
Speaking about the special guest appearance from Gareth Southgate, Georgie said:
“We do expect him to on the rowing machine and buy some cakes!
“We’ve all been really excited for him to come along and we’ve got some guys from Harrogate Town here too. We really appreciate the big support from everyone.”
Martin House Children’s Hospice, which provides care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions across the region, has welcomed the support.
