A popular outdoor club for young children across the Harrogate district has restarted after a successful year.
The Outdoor Adventurers’ Club is free for young children aged between 3 and five years old based in the specialist outdoor learning zone at Ashville College.
The club was established as part of the whole school’s philosophy about the importance of learning about the outdoors.
Run by former Deputy Head Paul Oldham, the club teaches children basic skills like counting, communication and working together as a team.
Head of Prep Phil Soutar said:
“We can see the benefits of working outside with children right across the school from the age of two to 18 and wanted to offer our friends in the community the opportunity to use our facilities.
“This year we have introduced a mini ‘passport’ for the children to bring when they join the club – parents and grandparents also join in the fun and enjoy watching the children learn with a sense of wonder and curiosity about the world around them."
The Ashville Open Day will be held this Saturday from 9.30am.
