The ever-popular Fountains 10km race is set to return in June.
The event, which was established in 2001, will see 700 runners take on the mixed terrain route on 22nd June.
It will start from the village of Grantley, near Ripon, before taking on quiet country roads, off-road trails and scenic moorland within Nidderdale.
The event is the biggest source of fundraising each year for The Federation of Fountains and Grewelthorpe CE Primary Schools.
Race Director Susie Cox said:
“This year Fountains school is hoping to renovate a corner of the playground which is currently blocked off.
“This area would become a treehouse style outdoor learning area and involves relocating a staircase, refurbing paving and steps.”
Susie added:
“Grewelthorpe are raising funds to create a bright and inviting library space at the centre of the school.
“This new area will give the children a dedicated place to read, learn and grow.
“We feel this area will support the school to inspire a lifelong love of books and learning in our children.
Organisers are looking for local businesses interested in sponsoring this year’s event through cash donations, raffle prizes, prizes fort winners or items to go in goody-bags.

Cash sponsors usually donate between £50 and £2,000 to cover the operational costs of the event.
Susie said:
“Not everyone can support us as a cash sponsor, especially after the hardships of the last few years, but we are incredibly grateful for any amount of sponsorship you may feel able to provide.
“We are conscious that sponsorship needs to be a win-win situation, and therefore sponsors are provided with marketing opportunities in return for their generous donations.
Marketing opportunities can range from having naming rights for the race, prominent display of advertising banners at the race start/finish, and use of their logo on social media.
“We are extremely grateful for any support that you can offer.”
