A brand new country pub is set to open in Ripon later this month.
Five-star hotel Grantley Hall is set to open the doors to its much-anticipated country pub Grantley Arms on Thursday 14th August.
The pub invites guests to savour the very best of Yorkshire’s local flavours in a “relaxed yet refined setting.”
At the helm of the kitchen is Chef Patron Gavin Swift, formerly Senior Sous Chef at Grantley Hall.
Menu highlights include burrata with grilled peach, cucumber & mint; king prawn cocktail; Yorkshire coast fish & chips; braised beef & ale pie with mash; North Sea fish pie with mussels; and a selection of dishes from the grill including Nidderdale lamb chops and honey rose harissa chicken with tzatziki.

A daily specials board will also champion fresh fish, limited-edition creations and plates designed around the best seasonal produce.
Inside, the interior offers a sophisticated yet laid back setting that reflects the timeless character of a traditional village pub.
Original fireplaces, ceiling beams, quirky artwork and comfortable corners sit alongside a rich palette of green, copper and natural wood.
Outside, the terrace provides a tranquil spot to enjoy an alfresco drink or meal in the sunshine, complemented by beautiful views of the rolling Yorkshire countryside.
Grantley Arms is both family and dog-friendly.
Gavin, who has been an integral part of the Grantley Hall culinary team since 2019, has been involved in every stage of the Grantley Arms transformation – from refurbishing the space to curating the team and developing the menu.
Speaking on his new role as Chef Patron at the Grantley Arms, he said:
“It’s a real honour to be appointed Chef Patron at the Grantley Arms.
“I’ve been part of the Grantley Hall team for several years now, and I’m proud to bring everything we stand for – exceptional quality, local ingredients, and true Yorkshire hospitality – into a relaxed, countryside setting.
“I actually became a chef by accident, but my very first job was in a pub.
“So, it feels quite special to be returning to my roots, leading a pub we hope will become a true culinary destination”.
The pub is now taking bookings from Thursday 14th August and will be open Wednesdays – Sundays.
