A charity ball is set to be held in memory of Harrogate girl Darcey, marking ten years since she sadly passed away at Martin House Children's Hospice.
Darcey, who had been diagnosed with a genetic condition, received care at Martin House before she passed away in 2015.
Her father, Liam Chapman, has been championing the hospice since, having also completed the London Marathon in her name earlier this year.
And to mark the tenth anniversary of her passing, The Duchy Hospital, where Liam works as a Physiotherapy Lead, is hosting ‘Darcey’s Ball’ to further raise funds for the charity.
Liam said:
“Martin House accepted us with open arms and with their care, compassion and expertise they allowed us to enjoy our last months, weeks, days and minutes with our daughter.
“The support we received during our hardest time was absolutely incredible.”
The event will be held on Saturday 22nd November at The Pavilions.
The black-tie evening will include a welcome drink, three-course meal, live music, entertainment and a silent auction, with all proceeds going to Martin House.
Katie Edridge, Sales and Marketing Manager at The Duchy Hospital, said:
“Darcey’s Ball means everything to the Duchy Hospital.
“We have a fantastic team here and we have a hospital that supports each other and this is for Liam.”
Becki Taylor, Regional Fundraiser at Martin House, said:
“We’re just absolutely in awe of the Duchy Hospital for organising such an incredible evening, it’s going to be really special.
“It means the absolute world to everyone at Martin House and the families we are supporting each and every day.”
Tickets are available at £80 per person or £750 for a table of 10.
The evening begins at 7pm and aims to bring together the local community to raise funds for Martin House, which provides specialist care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.
