Harrogate Theatre has announced that acclaimed comedian, writer and actor Maisie Adam has joined the cast for this year's Christmas pantomime.
Maisie will be the voice of The Magic Harp in this year’s festive production of Jack and the Beanstalk.
The comedian, who grew up in Pannal and attended Harrogate Youth Theatre as a teenager, has a long-standing connection to the venue.
She shot to fame after winning So You Think You’re Funny? at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2017 and has since become a household name, appearing on hit TV shows including Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, QI, The Last Leg, and Have I Got News For You.
She is currently competing on the latest series of Taskmaster, delighting audiences with her trademark wit and energy.
Maisie said:
“I’m so excited to be part of this year’s Harrogate Theatre pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk.
“It’s probably my favourite one, so to be the Harp – this is pinnacle for me. My family always go and see the Harrogate Theatre pantomime.
“It’s a big date in our calendar, so they’re going to be absolutely chuffed that I’m in the show this year. This beats every other show I’ve been in for them. This is the top. It’s all downhill from here.”
Director Marcus Romer added:
“It’s super exciting to have Maisie Adam on board as the voice of the Magic Harp for our panto this year! We did the recording with her on Sunday when she was in the theatre and she was fantastic!
“There’s a short interchange between Maisie and Matt Berry, who is voicing our Giant too! It makes my job as director such great fun to be working with such talented and funny comedy performers.”
Harrogate Theatre’s annual pantomime is a much-loved highlight of the festive season, drawing audiences from across the region to enjoy its signature mix of laughter, music, and magic.
