The team at Lime Tree Café in Knaresborough have issued a plea to customers that it is 'business as usual' - despite the wider business being listed for sale.
The garden centre, based within Moorland Nurseries Garden Centre on Forest Moor Road, remains open and trading as normal.
Owner Ali Iles told Your Harrogate that since the sale of the garden centre was reported in September, the café has received numerous queries from customers concerned that it may have already closed.
Ali said:
“We’ve had a lot of customers asking if and when we’re closing, and some even ringing to check whether we’ve already shut down.
“This has caused a bit of confusion and is having an impact on our business, so we just want to reassure everyone that we’re very much open and not going anywhere.”
The Lime Tree Café has confirmed that it holds a tenancy agreement until August 2026, meaning it will continue operating at the site for the foreseeable future.

This year also marks a major milestone for the café - its 20th anniversary.
To celebrate, the team is thanking customers for their continued support and running a raffle to win a luxury food hamper.
Ali added:
“We’re so grateful to all our loyal customers who’ve supported us over the past 20 years.
“We just want everyone to know it’s business as usual at Lime Tree Café.”
The garden centre itself - Moorland Nurseries - was listed for sale earlier this autumn with a guide price of £2.5 million, marketed by Christie & Co.
Covering approximately 2.54 acres, the site includes extensive parking, glasshouses, a café, retail space and offices.
The family-run business dates back to 1947, with a long history of serving both retail and wholesale customers across the region.
