A new family-friendly community event celebrating individuality, creativity and inclusion is set to take place in Knaresborough later this year.
Pride Party in the Park will be held at The Kingfisher Kiosk in Conyngham Hall on Saturday 6th June and is being organised by Yorkshire CREATE.
The event aims to bring together families, friends, neighbours and local businesses to celebrate diversity and community spirit.
Organisers say visitors can expect live music, face painting, storytime sessions, arts and crafts, food and drink, and “lots of rainbows”.
The event is centred around 'self-expression, acceptance and support for others', with Yorkshire CREATE saying it wants everyone in Knaresborough to feel they have a place to be themselves.
Rowena Lloyd, Director of Yorkshire CREATE, said:
“This inclusive event is designed to bring people of all ages, identities and backgrounds together in a safe, colourful and welcoming outdoor space.”
Pride Party in the Park forms part of Knaresborough’s wider programme of community events this year and has been enabled by Eventure, supported by David Skaith, Mayor of York and North Yorkshire.
It’s funded by York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority through the Vibrant and Sustainable High Streets Fund.
