Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a car failed to stop following a collision on the A1(M).
It happened between Boroughbridge (Junction 48) and Dishforth (Junction 49) on the northbound carriageway between 5am and 5.15am on Sunday 30th March.
A grey Citroen C3 was travelling north in lane one when it was hit from behind by a black vehicle and came to rest on the verge of the motorway.
The black vehicle failed to stop and continued north.
The occupants of the Citroen sustained minor injuries.
A police spokesperson said:
"We are appealing to anyone travelling along the A1 who either witnessed the incident or has any dashcam footage of the incident or the moments before it, to contact us.
