A Harrogate jewellery retailer is giving colleagues the gift of time with loved ones this Christmas.
This year, Beaverbrooks, located at James Street in Harrogate, will remain closed on Boxing Day as part of the brand’s longstanding tradition of giving colleagues an extra day off to spend time with loved ones.
As the busy festive period approaches, Beaverbrooks will also be gifting colleagues an additional week’s salary in December, as a thank you for their dedication throughout the year.
Having always championed a people-first culture, Beaverbrooks was recently recognised as the Number 1 Best Retail Company to Work For in the UK at the Best Companies Awards 2025 and placed 22nd in the Top 25 Best Companies to Work For in the UK – the only company to have held this prestigious title for 20 continuous years.
For 2025, Beaverbrooks has also created 50 seasonal roles across its head office and selected stores nationwide.
Clare Watson, Store Manager at Beaverbrooks Harrogate, said:
“Here in Harrogate, the festive season is always such a special – and busy – time for us, so having Boxing Day off means a lot to the team. It’s a chance for everyone to relax, recharge and spend time with loved ones after working hard to help our customers find the perfect Christmas gifts.
“Beaverbrooks is built on strong family values, and it’s great to see that reflected in decisions like this. Our colleagues and customers appreciate the company’s people-first approach, and we’re proud to be part of a business that genuinely values its teams, particularly with this longstanding tradition of Boxing Day closures.”
