Harrogate community rallies to support family after loss of 9-week-old son

9-week-old Noah passed away last week.

A fundraiser has been launched to support a Harrogate family following the death of their nine-week-old baby boy.

Friends of Grace and Marshall Sibanda have created a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral costs and establish a memorial in honour of their son, Noah, who died unexpectedly on Friday 13th February.

Safia Bennseer, who set up the fundraiser, said the aim is to ease some of the financial pressure facing the family during what she described as an “unimaginable time”.

She said:

“While no amount of money will ever bring Noah back or take away their pain, we hope it can ease some of the financial burden they are now facing.

"The funds raised will go towards Noah’s cremation and creating a beautiful memorial in his honour - a special place where his memory can live on.”

Grace paid tribute to her son, calling him a “cheeky young man” who was often "smiling and starting to laugh and play."

She said:

“Noah allowed me to be a mum and have the most amazing beautiful 9 weeks of my life. He was so clever in such a short time. He was my world. I spent every day and night with my perfect son. I would do anything to be kept up all night again.

“I cannot believe what has happened and we will never forget our beautiful boy. He was perfect in every single way and I am completely lost.”

Grace and her partner Marshall are both involved in local charitable work.

Together they run The Sibling Group, a Harrogate-based charity, and Oscar’s Pathway, a day provision supporting disabled adults with complex needs.

Noah’s fundraiser, set up to help give him “the funeral he deserves”, has raised £4,000 towards its £5,000 goal.
